Fête de la musique in Paris
Every year since 1982, the Fête de la Musique takes place in Paris and throughout France.
Created by the French Ministry of Culture, it aims to encourage amateurs and professionals alike to play music in the public space, under the slogan "Faites de la musique". Since then, the Fête de la Musique has spread to over a hundred countries on five continents, with thousands of concerts and musical events of all genres and cultures.
On June 21, the symbolic day of summer, all French people gather to celebrate live music.
The festival is open to all, and helps to familiarize young and old from all walks of life with all forms of musical expression.
