Le Jardin du Luxembourg

Located in the 6th arrondissement, the Jardin du Luxembourg is one of the capital's most emblematic green spaces. Created in 1612 at the request of Marie de Médicis, this 25-hectare garden surrounds the Palais du Luxembourg, now the seat of the French Senate.

Inspired by Italian gardens, it features the Médicis fountain, greenhouses, an orchard and over a hundred statues. There's also the Orangerie and flowerbeds that change with the seasons.

The Jardin du Luxembourg is appreciated for its peaceful atmosphere and numerous activities. Here, you can relax on the famous green chairs, stroll along the banks of the great basin where small wooden sailing boats sail, or admire temporary open-air exhibitions. Are you a sports fan? You can jog, play pétanque or tennis!

Children can enjoy play areas, a merry-go-round and a puppet theater. The garden also hosts concerts and cultural events, notably in the bandstand.

The Hôtel du Jeu de Paume, on the Île Saint-Louis, is a 20-minute walk away. Passing through the Latin Quarter and its historic alleyways, you'll discover some of the most beautiful places in Paris.

By public transport, metro line 4 links Saint-Michel station to Odéon, close to the garden. Bus lines 63 and 86 also provide direct access.

Whether you're a botany enthusiast, a history buff or in search of serenity, the Jardin du Luxembourg is a must-see, offering an enchanted interlude in the heart of Paris.
