Marcel Proust, a Parisian novel at the Carnavalet Museum
The Carnavalet Museum invites you to an exhibition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Marcel Proust.
The exhibition, which began on December 16, 2021, will end on April 10, 2022, and is mainly devoted to relations between the famous writer and Paris, where he spent most of his life. The exhibition consists of approximately 280 works, manuscripts and archival documents that have been carefully catalogued over time. The course consists of three parts. The first invites you to «the Parisian universe of Marcel Proust», the second concerns the artist’s creative universe with a selection of his personal objects. And finally the last part of the exhibition is devoted to his novel A la recherche du temps perdu in which the author magnifies Paris to the delight of his readers.
Besides the life and work of Marcel Proust, it is the history of Paris that is proposed through this exhibition. This is the time to dive into the Paris of the end of the 19th century and the very beginning of the 20th before April 10, 2022.
