"Paris-Athènes", the new exhibition at the Louvre
On the occasion of the bicentenary of Greece's independence, and the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the famous Venus de Milo in the Louvre collections, the famous museum offers us a new exhibition featuring an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, archaeology, costumes, and other works representing the unique culture of this country.
These works introduce us to modern Greece, and tell us about its history and the construction of its current identity.
The exhibition also highlights the long-standing ties between Greece and our country, and will take you on a real journey from Paris to Athens!
Through its 360 works, it traces more than 200 years of artistic, cultural and historical links between the two nations, from the first embassies of the 17th century in Constantinople to the exhibitions of modern Greek artists in Paris.
